Match of the round = StK v Freo???
April 15th 2010 11:33
So what would you have said at the start of the season, hell even 5 days ago, if someone had sidled up to you a bar and said "Freo V's Saint Kilda. That'll be a good game?"
If you're anything like me you probably would have avoided eye contact and ordered two of whatever he was drinking, but that's exactly the situation we're faced with this week. Strange days indeed.
There's so many factor to be considered in this game. Personally, I feel Freo will drop away at the end of the year when the kids that have been standing up for them start to tire, but the season is still young and they'll be up after knocking off the Cats. It is at Docklands, but they've already beaten the Bombers there this season.
To be honest none of us would even be considering an upset if St. Nick was playing but where are the Saints going to get their goals? Can they keep the Dockers to under 68 points (their score minus Nick's point last week)? Milney? But only if they don't call him names. They did well against the soft bellied Pies but will a switched on team be so easy to suppress? The Dockers have manage 118, 113 and 125 in their last three matches. Everything is set up for an upset.
Sports bet are offering $3.45 for Fremantle and the only thing stopping me taking the bet is an age old mantra that has served me well over the years "never bet on Fremantle, Ommmmm."
